I’m a 18 year old political science student at the University of Ottawa in Canada’s capital Ottawa, Ontario. I originally hail from Calgary, Alberta where I love to explore nature and the beautiful Rocky Mountains. I started running seriously four years ago when I was inspired by my marathoner father to join the Cross Country and Track and Field teams at my high school. Shortly after starting my running career I decided that this was not enough of a challenge and was drawn into the slippery slope that is distance running and ran my first 10 km races, half-marathons, and eventually marathon. In addition to just feeling and connecting with the road, trail, or earth under my feet while running, I love travelling, exploring new ideas and cultures, and sharing my prosperity with the world. I have travelled to both Ecuador and Poland on volunteer trips and have learned how much I can gain from these very different cultures and views of life; also, the amazing people I met on my trips inspired me to explore different cultural perspectives and ideas even further. One thing that was instilled in me through these and other experiences is that everyone has so much to offer to humanity and the planet as a whole. I also know that my participation in athletics and other after-school type endeavors empowered me to share what I have to offer, therefore I am ecstatic about any opportunity I have to help others do the same. Though it is a daunting task, I could not be more excited about combining some of my greatest passions while embarking on the 777 challenge.
